About Us

ISI’s Distributed Scalable Systems researches and develops technologies that can help complex organizations make demanding, multi-faceted decisions -- quickly, optimally and consistently – even in fast-changing, highly charged circumstances.

Businesses and government agencies now are distributed and decentralized, both organizationally and geographically, on an unprecedented scale.  Such entities face tremendous challenges in making wise decisions, including efficiently and effectively mobilizing teams, sharing data and information, generating insights, and initiating action.

Yet the next decade’s critical leadership opportunities clearly will depend on widely disseminated, highly distributed computing in an intensely connected world.

Distributed Scalable Systems researches and assists client organizations with addressing three critical disciplines:

  • understanding and envision complex situations,
  • planning for alternative futures, and
  • choosing between difficult, frequently conflicting options.

The result:  capability for dramatically improved corporate and military strategy, intelligence and operations, with applications ranging from national security to business logistics.  In some cases, such as pediatric disaster planning, our work also supports efforts to save lives and psyches among some of America’s most vulnerable residents.

Unlike similar research groups, Distributed Scalable Systems defines, builds, fields and supports advanced prototypes and concept demonstrations.  For more information, please contact Distributed Scalable Systems.
