n-dimensional information management aims to understand and represent complex situations in rich detail.  In essence, the discipline explores “one-stop shopping” in multiple dimensions – space, time, subject and complexity – including past, present and future.

ISI researches and develops n-dimensional information techniques, tools and aids that synthesize the impact of data, environmental sensors and what-if simulations.  

For example, our Scalable Data Grid helps instrument and analyze massive data sets from very large numbers of distributed entities, such scientific sensor nets or instrumented battlefields.  Early versions of SDG are now part of the Department of Defense’s JSAF standard release for battlefield simulation and war games.
