University of Southern California

ISI East is the Arlington, Virginia-based unit of ISI, a world leader in research

and development of advanced information processing, computer and communications technologies.  A unit of the University of Southern California’s Viterbi School of Engineering, ISI is one of the nation’s largest -- and most successful -- university-affiliated computer research institutes.

ISI conducts basic and applied research, bridging a gap between university investigation and real-world prototype development.  We were a primary contributor to Internet development and administration, and continue to be at the razor’s edge of new technologies, including high-performance and Grid computing, robotics and information security.  ISI is headquartered in Marina del Rey, California.

ISI East is the home of ISI’s Dynamic Systems Division, which creates novel, embedded computing architectures and devices that dramatically upgrade live communications capabilities.  Dynamic Systems focuses on real-time embedded signal processing for extremely challenging environments.

Nearly 30 hardware and software researchers and support staff at ISI East are led by ISI Deputy Director and Dynamic Systems Division Director Robert Parker.
