Adaptive chip architecture

ISI creates physical devices and supporting technologies that perform to highly demanding specifications –and/or in highly demanding environments such as outer space – through unique approaches to computing design and deployment.  Our advances include dramatically faster processors, resource-conserving processing engines, highly fault-tolerant systems and novel, processor-based approaches to healthcare treatment.

Research focuses on:

  • Scalable and low-power embedded systems
  • Novel computing systems
  • VLSI and system-on-a-chip (SoC) technology
  • Trusted, reliable space systems and electronics
  • Biomimetic and bio-inspired systems

Among our current projects:

  • Novel computing:  MONARCH supercomputer-on-chip adaptable systems
  • Space electronics:  Rad-Hard by Design radiation hardening circuit techniques
  • Scalable embedded system: OPERA software architecture for novel processor architectures
  • Autonomous systems for cognitive radar: IDCF intelligent run-time control for reconfigurable computing
